Healthy Eating Isn’t Working

If your eating healthy and exercising but still not losing weight there are some handy tips below which may help. Trying to lose weight can be frustrating especially when you are trying really hard and eating all the right things but still the pounds don’t shift. There can be reasons for this though and sometimes you need an extra helping hand.

1. There could be a medical reason why you are not losing weight or even gaining weight. Visit your GP and discuss with them your weight loss problems they they may be able to suggest some health checks to make sure there is nothing medically causing you problems.

2. Keep a food diary to check how many calories you are consuming every day. This is a great way to keep on track with your dieting by keeping this kind of record you can easily see how many calories you are eating a day and what you can cut out to reduce them. Even if you are exercising regularly you may still be eating more calories than you are burning thereby reducing your weight loss.

3. Try using a pedometer to work out how many steps you take a day. You burn around 100 calories for every 2500 steps that you take. Work out how many steps you take on an average day and try increasing those steps every day, take the stairs instead of the lift or get off the bus a stop earlier you will find that it makes a big difference.

4. Try doing exercises that build muscle. Muscle is more metobolical than fat and therefore if you can build up your muscle it will build up your metobolic rate and allow you to lose weight at a greater weight. Also try to push your muscles more by doing things such as cycling uphill.

5. If you find exercise boring, try listening to some music or even exercise whilst your watching your favourite TV show. This will help take your mind of the fact that your exercising and you may find that you can do more than you thought as you have something else occupying your mind rather than concentrating solely on the exercising you are doing.

6. Try to get a much sleep as you can. If your tired during the day this can make you eat more and thereby making you gain weight. You should aim to get around 8 hours sleep a night to keep your body and mind healthy.
